To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don't use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness. This book not only does not have the majority of the solutions of the book (in a section with excercises has only one or two), it has solution only to the easiest excericeses ( excericeses that you dont even want the book) and to the "most difficult" ones nothing. It is not at all helpful and i definetly do not recoment it. 1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing book Reviewed in Canada on 9 September 2019 Verified Purchase I'm very disappointed with the quality of this book. I bought Volume 1 and Volume 2 hoping to verify the answers for the exercises in the text. But this book has only a couple of answers from each section. The text book has lot more information than in the book. This book is not at all useful. 4.0 out of 5 stars Thorough Reviewed in the United States on 17 June 2016 Verified Purchase If you prefer worked problems where . . . <every> . . . <last> . . . <step> . . . is explained, this might be the book for you. Some answers run for three, even four pages. The problems are odd-numbered, meaning they are the ones with answers in the main text. Number of problem sets in first 12 chapters = 94. Number of worked problems in current title = 262. So the average number of worked problems per set = 2.78. So . . . if you are coming into the book looking for help with a specific problem, your chance of finding it is poor. The deal breaker for this book for many will be the time factor. In order to mine it effectively, you need the necessary time available. Given that, it can provide valuable assistance. 1.0 out of 5 stars Like the Textbook, not helpful. Reviewed in the United States on 15 September 2013 Verified Purchase (TLDR: See bullet points) This book complements the book perfectly. In the past, solution manuals had solutions with a reasonable amount of explanation and detail. This one, however, lacks details a problem solutions. It has solutions to only a few problems from each section which isn't helpful. I think the strategy with the concept of "only a few problems from each section" was something along the lines of "you know one, you know them all." I beg to differ. Differential Equations is a reasonably difficult class. If you're having a hard time with the homework you need someone (or something) that can help you understand it. Neither the textbook, nor the solutions manual are helpful nor descriptive. I recommend the following: I hope some of you found this useful. 4.0 out of 5 stars Great addition to a horrible textbook Reviewed in the United States on 28 September 2013 Verified Purchase Without this, I would be completely lost. The newest version of the text book has a horrible layout. I wouldn't be able to figure anything out if it wasn't for the solutions manual. It only steps you through a few of the questions at the end of each section, but it does a far better job of explaining the process than the text. the textbook feels like it is set up for someone that has dealt with differential equations before. If you have never seen this stuff, the latest version may leave you stranded. Customers who bought this item also bought
